With continuous advancements in our society, we often don't think about the consequences we cause the environment. We continue to manipulate our environments to fit our own needs not thinking about how it's affecting the rest of the world. This is what I'm trying to convey in my image representing human versus nature. The fish in the plastic bottle signifies the control we have over the environment, being able to contain things however and whenever we want to.

Dead and Alive

In the world, the two simple ways of showcasing life and death are a skull, obvious death…., and nature or flowers which represent growth and a new beginning. When taking this photo I wanted a clear delivery of life and death. Making the subject black and white but having the stark contrast of colored flowers creates an intense difference and extreme opposites. A life and death situation is extreme and full of emotion although this photo comes off as calm, the message behind it is far from that.
