Jewish American Heritage Month
Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) is an annual recognition and celebration of Jewish American achievements in and contributions to the United States of America. Each year, this national celebration shows the ways in which this history deserves our collective attention, pride, and recognition. In 2006, President George W. Bush first proclaimed the month of May as a time to recognize the more than 350-year history of Jewish contributions to America and the American culture. Congress issued a Concurrent Resolution at the same time. Every American President since that time has signed a Proclamation calling on government entities as well as people of the United States to observe JAHM.
