Information for Candidates for Appointment as Interim Trustee of the Palos Verdes Library District

Position: Member, Board of Library Trustees
Term: From appointment through November 2019
Eligibility: Registered voters residing within the boundaries of the Palos Verdes Library District
Process: Appointment by Board of Library Trustees.  Interviews will be conducted at a public Board of Library Trustees meeting at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Peninsula Center Library.

Candidates seeking appointment to the interim position on the Board of Library Trustees should submit the following:

  • a one-page letter stating why the applicant wants to serve on the Library Board and summarizing the unique qualities he or she will bring to the position
  • a resume including all relevant experience
  • written responses (not to exceed 250 words per question) to the following questions:
    1. Tell us about your involvement with the Palos Verdes Library District
    2. In your view, what are the most important responsibilities of a Library Trustee?
    3. What do you perceive to be the strengths of the District and what, if anything, could be improved?
