It's easy to join. Register online or drop by any library to pick up a paper log on June 4 or anytime this summer.
Members may read any books and also try some reading activities that are fun, exciting, informative and funny. They can track their progress online or use the classic paper reading logs. Our theme this year, “Reading Takes Us Everywhere!” reminds kids and parents too that reading opens up the world to us all!
Members will collect souvenir iron-on patches, similar to boy scout badges but unique to PVLD. We have an awesome new set this year!
Children who participate in a library summer reading program have better reading skills at the end of the school year and score higher on the standard tests. More important, they have fun and remember the pleasure of reading.
More fun at the Library: We're kicking off the summer with a special event on Sunday, June 10 at the Peninsula Center Library at 2PM. PVLD libraries will also feature special weekly activities for kids from June 12 through August 9. Check the schedule for dates and times.
Riddle of the Week - Starts June 18! Drop by any library and solve the riddle using our code and get a small prize. We post a new riddle every week!
Students starting 6th grade in fall 2018 and older middle and high school students have their own reading program: "Read Outside the Lines!"
