The busiest room in the Young Readers Department is getting a make-over starting Tuesday Aug. 15! The changes will make the room larger, brighter, and more accessible to patrons of all ages and abilities. The storytime room has been always been a special place for children, parents and caregivers. With nearly 20,000 children and adults attending storytime each year, the room is showing age and wear. The changes will include greater accessibility for patrons with mobility challenges, safety and acoustical improvements, and fresh, whimsical color, seating, and decor to welcome the babies, toddlers, preschoolers and parents and caregivers.
Storytimes will continue throughout the project. Next week, most sessions will be held in the Peninsula Center Community room or in the puzzle corner of the the Young Readers department. For information, call the Young Readers Desk at 310-377-9584 ext 600.
