This book is full of interesting stories from a period in history that isn't much thought about, between the civil war and WWI, what happened in the Navy? What did they do with all those sailing ships powered by steam, what about the Monitor style of warship, they built a bunch after the civil war but you never hear much about them, well it's all here in this book and more, must read for any Naval history buff or anyone who just wondered what life was like back then. Good book even if you just read it for the leadership examples.
