This fast-paced book introduces Percy Jackson, a boy whose behavior problems result from his being a demi-god (his dad is Poseidon). He joins other heroes at Camp Half-Blood and begins his adventures. Great introduction to mythology for kids. Highly recommended for reluctant readers.

I think that this is a book that is good to read, especially if you want to read about adventure! I teaches Greek Mythology in a fun and exciting way!! I would recommend 4th grade and higher!!!

The Lightning Thief is one of the best modern day Greek mythology novels you will EVER read. Rick Riordan does a great job of incorporating Greek mythology into everyday lives of some teenagers (they're demigods) that live in New York City. This book will have you flipping to the next page and pulling all-nighters just to read it. I highly recommend The Lighting Thief and the rest of the books in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series to any readers of any age.
